Nylextra Hybrid 4oz Fibreglass - Per Metre

Nylextra Hybrid is an Australian made surfboard skin with Nylextra fibre running vertically (length ways) through E glass fibreglass.  This helps minimise shattering and strengthens against impacts on the board.

Hybrid Fabrics are reinforcements that combine two or more different fibres in a common matrix, expanding the range of properties that can be achieved.

Nylextra Hybrid cloth enhances the effective properties of surfboards giving strengthen without reducing the natural flex performance of a board.

The 4oz hybrid fibreglass can be used with both Epoxy and Polyester resins.

What is Nylextra Hybrid?

Nylextra fibre consists of a special blend of yarns, which is made from some of the toughest and most durable manmade polymers.  It has very high tensile and tear strength even at low fabric weights.

Fibreglass fibre we use is high tensile clear yarn which is the correct size, meaning the fabrics need no further heat cleaning or treatment with a coupling agent. These additional treatments usually result in a 50% reduction in tensile strength which, in turn, transfers to a reduction in composite mechanical properties.
